Being a Changemaker with Us

HCYC believes that everybody has the potential to create positive change in their lives, their local communities and nationally, no matter their age.  The best youth groups are those that promote and embrace imagination and collaboration from workers and young people shaping them together.

HCYC is well connected and informed, enabling us to amplify young people’s voices through signposting and consultations

Children and Young People help sustain funding for their provision through collaboration

Children and Young people's needs and ideas guide planning sessions for the following term

Young People have co-chaired HCYC's AGM in recent years.  Any Young Person who accesses our provision is invited to join.

Children and Young people are supported and encouraged to create and/or lead activities

Children and Young People are included in staff recruitment, through interview panels and staff observations 

Children and Young People provide direction and content through their lived experiences for the use of staff professional development
